Saponification

Did you know that in the hot process, saponification is very important? Saponification in the process making soap using either fat or oil, this
is done by hydrolyzing. Hydrolyzing means to break down a compound, fat or oil, by chemical reaction (alkali) with water. In this process, the fat and hydroxide are heated up to 80- 100 degrees Celsius. Unlike the cold process, the exact measurements are not needed. After the saponification process is complete, the excessive liquid is drained and then pour into a mold.

History of Soap- Part 2

Did you know that ancient Romans used a tool called a “strigil” to bathe with? A strigil was made out of metal and was used to scrape off dirt and oil. Ancient Romans would massage oil into their skin and then remove the oil and dirt with a strigil. The use of a strigil sounds a bit rough, but it’s not so different from what most of us do today when we shower. We soap and a loofah, or shower sponge to help remove the dirt and oil.

Fivesso is excited to announce that we are launching our crowdfunding soon. The crowdfunding will help us fund for marketing and production. Please give us lots of support as we would love to produce an all-natural, organic, premium coffee soap bar for everyone to benefit from and enjoy!

The Benefits of Lavender Oil- Part 4

Did you think that was the last of lavender oil? Nope! Lavender oil can also do wonders for you hair!

Lavender oil can help those who have problems with hair loss, damaged hair, dandruff, and hair irritation.

How does it work? We mention on the previous post that lavender oil contains antibacterial properties.  These antibacterial properties can help heal and protect your wounds. These antibacterial properties can also help soothe irritation, dryness, itchiness, and dandruff in your head and hair. Using a small drop of lavender oil and massaging it into the scalp, where the problematic area is, helps revive your damaged scalp. This allows your damaged scalp to feel and look healthier.

The sweet aroma of lavender oil can help you relax while you gently massage the lavender oil in your scalp. The aroma will help you release your tension and stress. The aroma is also a great bug spray!

Lavender oil has so many wonderful benefits! Check out our next blog to see what our next essential oil is.

The Benefits of Lavender Oil- part 3

Aside from helping heal acne scars, lavender oil can also help relieve your pain!

Lavender oil is a great remedy for numerous types of pain such as muscle aches, tenseness and soreness, rheumatism, sprains, back pain, and lumbago. Using a small amount of lavender oil to massage the area of pain will help relieve those symptoms.

How does it work? Lavender oil contains antispasmodic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. The antispasmodic property helps to alleviate pain and muscles aches. The antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties create an effective way to treat wounds. Depending on the type of lavender used, some have stronger properties than others. One type of lavender, called Lavandula latifoli, has a stronger antispasmodic property making it great for pain relief.

There are more than 20 different types of lavender, all containing different benefits.

Check out what other benefits does lavender oil has in our next blog! Be on the lookout for our all natural, organic premium quality bar soap and scrub in the coming months!

The Benefits of Lavender Oil- part 2

Not only does lavender oil give you a soothing aroma, it can also help you get rid of acne and those acne scars!

How does it work? Lavender oil prevents the bacterium that causes acne from growing. Acne occurs when your sebaceous glands, in your skin, become overactive. Sebum, produced by this gland, is an oily substance that helps your skin with dryness. Sebum, the oily substance, will block dead skins cells and follicles in your skin creating a whitehead.

Whiteheads will allow the bacterium that lives on your skin to infect the follicles, creating more acne and acne scars. Lavender oil can help prevent this from happening by attacking the bacteria that can infect the blocked follicles and dead skin cells.

Remember what other essential oil helps with acne? That’s right- coconut oil! With our premium, all-natural, organic Lavender Brew Soap Bar you will have coconut oil and lavender oil to help you fight acne!

The Benefits of Olive Oil

Our third essential oil is olive oil!

Did you know that olive oil can smooth and soften your skin? Using olive oil for winter skin dryness can do wonders! Olive oil can help protect and moisturize your skin, keeping it from being dry and flaky. It’s also great for sensitive skin!

How does it work? Olive oil contains vitamin E, like palm oil, and the antioxidant helps protect your skin from external factors. Olive oil also contains hydrating squalene, a common lipid that is naturally produced by your skin’s cells to help prevent the skin’s natural oil from oxidizing. This lipid allows olive oil to help with skin’s dryness, eczema, psoriasis, and acne.

Olive oil does not clog the pores, so it can do wonders for those who suffer from acne.

Do you remember what other oil helps with skin dryness and acne? That’s right- coconut oil! All of our, Fivesso premium quality bar soap, essential oils contain so many great benefits! Check out our next blog for more benefits of olive oil!

The Benefits of Coconut Oil

Our second essential oil is the coconut oil!

Did you know that coconut oil helps fight acne? There is a layer of your skin that helps reduce and prevent acne, but it’s constantly being removed by washing and wiping of the skin. Coconut oil contains two powerful antimicrobial agents, Capric and Lauric acid, that helps replace and replenish this layer of your skin. By restoring and replacing this layer, it can help fight acne, relieve inflammation, reduce acne scars, nourish the skin, and prevent new acne scars from occurring. (That’s amazing!)

How does it do this? When applied to the skin, good microbial agents will convert Capric and Lauric acid into Monocaprin and Monolaurin. Converting these acids will replenish and protect the layer of your skin allowing it to prevent acne from forming. (Shield on!)

Coconut oil helps your skin healer quicker, which results in fewer acne scars, stains, marks, and black dots on your skin.

Fighting acne is just one of the benefits of coconut oil! Find out what other benefits the coconut oil has in our upcoming blogs.

The Benefits of Palm Oil- part 4

One last crucial benefit that palm oil provides is the removal of dirt and oil from your skin. Palm oil does this by “attaching” itself to the dirt and oil and then removing it from your skin.

How is palm oil different? Unlike most soaps and shampoos that remove away all the oil from your hair and body, palm oil contains a refatting agent that will help restore the natural and essential oil necessary for your hair and body.

How does palm oil work? Using its refatting agent and two essential vitamins, palm oil goes deep into the skin’s layer to restore, renew, re-moisturize, prevent, and fight free radicals allowing your skin to look younger and healthier.

How great are the benefits of palm oil?! Palm oil is ONE of the essential oils in Fivesso! Be sure to check out our next blog to see what the other four are!

The Benefits of Palm Oil part 3

Are you ready for the next benefit of palm oil?

Palm oil can prevent free radical from ever forming at all! Let’s recall what free radicals are, free radicals are molecules that can cause wrinkles and fine lines in your skin.

How do free radicals generate in your skin? When your skin is exposed to our ozone, lipids (fats) in your skin can be damaged or oxidize causing free radicals to form. Free radicals do not only create fine lines and wrinkles, they have also been proven to be an underlying cause of many skin diseases, including cancer. (Pesky free radicals!)

How does palm oil prevent free radicals from forming? Tocotrienols! That's right! Remember Tocotrienols is a stronger form of vitamin E found in palm oil. Dr. Betty Kamen, Ph.D. noted that Tocotrienols has been proven to be 40-60 times more powerful in preventing lipid pre-oxidation. (That’s pretty strong!)

Who knew that your skin can be damaged that easily? Fivesso can help your skin to prevent and fight free radicals with our all natural, organic premium quality bar soap and scrubs!

The Benefits of Palm Oil part 2

Not only does palm oil contain the strong and hard to find tocotrienols (members of the vitamin E family), it also contains high levels of vitamin A.

What does Vitamin A do for your skin? Vitamin A, which is known as the skin’s most important fat-soluble nutrient, can help improve skin elasticity, enhance new skin cell growth, re-texturize, and thicken the epidermal and dermal skin.

What does this mean? This means that palm oil contains two essential vitamins that can help fight those pesky free radicals and promote healthier, younger looking skin.

The essential vitamin A and vitamin E are a few of the main reasons that Fivesso has chosen palm oil as a crucial ingredient for our all-natural, organic coffee bar soap and coffee scrubs.

Find out what other benefits palm oil has in our next blog. Be on the lookout for our all natural, organic premium quality bar soap and scrubs in the coming months!

The Benefits of Palm Oil

The first essential oil that makes up our all natural, organic premium quality soap is Palm Oil. One of the major benefits of Palm Oil is that it contains a form of Vitamin E called Tocotrienols.

What does Vitamin E do for your skin? Common Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is a strong antioxidants that has been used to treat many skin ailments, fight aging, and damages from free radicals. Free radicals are molecules that are known to cause fine lines, wrinkles, and other damages to your skin. (Pesky free radicals!)

What is Tocotrienols? Tocotrienols is a stronger and harder to find antioxidant that has been proven to be more effective in fighting aging and damages from free radicals than Tocopherol. (Who wants the stronger opponent to fight when it comes to aging? You know you do!)

How does it work? Used topically, both Tocopherol and Tocotrienols work by penetrating deep within the skin’s layer to enable healing and protection. (That’s deep!)

Tocotrienols is just one of the benefits of Palm oil, find out what other benefits palm oil have in our next couple of blogs.
